This candid revelation offers fans a glimpse into the artistic process of one of Afrobeats’ rising stars, showcasing the raw authenticity behind Simi’s music.

Sometimes I don’t have any inspiration but I have a deadline. I don’t really like those, because you know you have to force it to come. And I’m not crazy about those,” she told CNN. “I’ve made like really great songs from those. ‘Joromi’ was one of those,” she added.

During her creative process for “Joromi,” she initially felt she had wrapped up the album’s songwriting. However, the team surprised her by sending a beat that sparked fresh inspiration. Recognizing the opportunity to enhance the album further, she eagerly took on the task of crafting a new song to complement the captivating rhythm.

This unexpected turn infused her with renewed energy and creativity as she embraced the challenge of seamlessly integrating this new piece into the project.
