Nigerian music superstar, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun alias Wizkid, celebrates his 30th birthday today, July 16, 2020.

  1. 2012 BET Winner

To reward his hard work in 2012, Wizkid took home the plaque for Best International Act, Africa   Category at the 2012 BET Awards. He shared the award with Ghana’s Sarkodie.

  1. First Nigerian artiste to hit a million followers on twitter

In February 2014, Wizkid became the first Nigerian musician to have over one million followers on   Twitter. He has since added 5.8 million more and his current following stands at 6.8 million.

  1. Featured By Drake

After collaborating with Chris Brown on his “African Bad Gyal” single, Wizkid got featured by   American rapper Drake on his Afrobeats-infused “One Dance” single in 2016.

  1. First Afrobeats artiste to appear in Guinness World Records

Wizkid became the first Afrobeats artist to appear in the 2018 Guinness World Records for his contribution to “One Dance”.

  1. Featured on Beyonce’s Lion King Album

In July 2019, Wizkid was featured on Beyonce’s “Brown Skin Girl” off her “Lion King” album.
