Netflix has revealed that THE WITCHER has broken a record as the show in is first four weeks accumulated 79 million views,making it the platform’s biggest opening season for a TV series so far.
The Henry Cavill-fronted fantasy show’s record-breaking numbers come as part of a change in how Netflix calculates its viewership figures. Up until now, Netflix had based its viewing figures on users who’d watched at least 70% of one episode of a series or 70% of a feature film. But now, the streaming service is calculating its numbers based on accounts who’ve only played an episode or a film for as little as two minutes.
