The movie was suspended about a week ago, and on Thursday, January 16th 2020 reinstatement was announced by producer Jade via Instagram. She seized the opportunity to thank all the people who reached out and the NFVCB for doing their best in getting the movie back in the cinema.
“We got such an outpouring of love in the last week, I couldn’t respond to all the calls and messages but your kind words and prayers were very encouraging ❤️❤️❤️Thank you soo much everyone. Thanks in particular to @alhadedayothomas and the @nfvcb for helping to get us back on the big screen and for the unwavering support of the industry.”
The executive director of NFVCB also issued a statement regarding the reinstatement via twitter;
1. The past week has been eventful for us as an organization with diverse speculations in the media on the perceived ban of Sugar Rush movie at the cinemas while we were still doing our due diligence on the movie for final approval.
